Rock On !!!!

Described as a “Female fronted fast paced high energy Alternative Punk Rock and Roll band” The Objex first formed in April of 2006 with Felony Melony on vocals, Jim Nasty on Guitar, Joe Perv on the Drums, and the Jerm on Bass. Their immediate unity saw their outlandish and aggressive style instantly recognised by the local masses as their music, heavily influenced by the likes of Chuck Berry, TurboNegro, David Bowie,Tina Turner, Green Day, and The Plasmatics, landed them the opportunity to tour the US in 2006 with their recently recorded 5 track demo “Bound And Gagged”.

Unfortunately the end of their tour was also the end of Jerm’s contribution, as he left the band to pursue further interests. Unhindered by this sad turn of events, The Objex found a onetime replacement which led them to their newest band member, Aly 2x “the self-proclaimed ‘best damn bass player with a vagina that you will ever see’”. Now with a complete line-up once more, The Objex were ready to take on the world and release their first full-length album in January 2007 titled “Attack Of The Objex”.

Incredibly well received, “Attack Of The Objex” presented numerous on screen and high profile appearances which included shows at the SXSW music festival, The Afro Punk music festival in Brooklyn, NY, a spot as a supporting act on UK tours with Demob, Gold Blade and The UK Subs as well as multiple independent films, television shows and magazines.

However, the obstacles for ‘The Objex’ were not over just yet! Looking to begin writing new material in May of 2008 also led to the departure of Joe Perv who was soon replaced by Chili (Joaquin Espinosa). Joe Perv’s ill-fated departure and replacement did not affect the overall outcome of The Objex genius as they ended the year, once again, on a high note, performing at The Afro punk Festival in Brooklyn NYC (This time with up and coming artists Sual Williams and Janel Monet) and Headlining a show at Webster hall in Manhattan.

Things began looking up even more for The Objex in 2010 after deciding to sign with Jason Tanzer of Dust Tree Production Studios to bring to life their newest work “Reservation For Debauchery”. After a few months, The Objex won the Vegas Rocks Award for Best Punk Rock Band 2010 and was nominated for a Hollywood Music Award for best alternative song 2011 and best rock song 2012.

Sadly, 2011 saw the exit of Aly 2x, who decided to pursue her roots in indie music. She was replaced by Ivan Del Real and The Objex began a 2 week tour of Ireland immediately after.

Upon returning to US The Objex went quickly back to work recording a New Music Video For “The Song Lethal Lips”, Appearing and performing Live on Vegas Weekly (may 2012) and launching a concentrated and successful tour campaign in southern California and the Pacific Northwest. This eventually led to the introduction to music Producer Andy Carpenter who brought The Objex to Los Angeles to begin recording their next EP “Super Charged Lil Nova” in August 2012.

Trees Die Standing announce the release of their new album out now on ConcertHouse Music through Blue Pie Records for the world. Trees Die Standing is the new musical project of Jack Garcia, Mario Garcia, and Javier Martin, from Spain. These guys have been in the music business all their lives, cutting their musical teeth with nonstop touring when they were younger and all having this experience culminate to major shows and playing to stadiums throughout Spain.

As solo artists and working in other bands they have played to audiences of 20 people and stadium shows with 30,000 + screaming adoring fans all hanging on every note and song that was played. They have achieved multiple gold discs in their own right and now bring us their new album “Forest”, a collaboration by some of Spain’s demigods of rock.

Jack, Mario and Javier have music running through their veins. With passion and the need to creatively express this new chapter of their lives they formed “Trees Die Standing” back in 2011.

Think in terms of bands like Muse, Foo Fighters, 30 Seconds to Mars, and The Killers and put this into a musical blender and then bury this in the ground. Add some water and then ….wait ….watch……and there you have your “Trees Die Standing” emerging to take over the Euro Rock worlds.

They released their debut album “Update the World” on ConcertHouse Records back in 2012 to critical acclaim in their home country Spain. As Jack says: “This album was a social comment on state of world through their eyes and ears. The mantra from this album was: People it´s time to update the way the world works”.

The band from the very start was always able to draw crowds to their shows a result of their former past lives in major rock bands. Filling stadiums is now where the band have their sights fixed.

This new album “Forest”, is the evolution of the musical tree that has now been watered by their adoring fans. The musical forest is growing and spreading its branches through songs like Nobody’s Perfect, Broken Toy, or the first single, Break Me In Case Of Fire. The fans and radio in Spain have been letting the band know that they know that they are on the right pathway by already making some of the songs standards on leading rock stations.

The songs take the listener on a journey, back to the days when the album format meant something and a band debated for days on the track order for their releases. This is classic rock in its pure sense. This is Trees Die Standing growing a musical forest in your ears. Listen once and it will be hard not to have flashbacks two days later, wondering what that song or songs were you have sitting in your ear and you have been humming all day.

This is not musical ear worms for your brain, this is a forest that germinates and then blocks out everything else till you constantly reach for this album to be part of your musical staple diet in your life. Think back to when Super Tramp gave us “Breakfast in America”. That album was being played across the globe and it all started with a bunch of guys in a studio making the music that would go on to become one of the world’s biggest selling albums.

The vocals are there with Forest and the sound is now but yet takes elements of respect from greats like Super Tramp, The Foo Fighters and brings them into a Spanish villa that you have rented for that party weekend. It’s the villa that you have escaped to for a long weekend of nonstop ROCK and ROLL parties with those Spanish ladies that steal your heart.

This is pure rock, this is Spain bringing back to the world an echo chamber of some blended rock made into what can only be “Trees Die Standings” first classic album.

“The Baby Animals” are a modern rock band that scored their first gig at the infamous Kardomah Café in Sydney in the late 80’s and continued their musical journey playing in clubs and pubs throughout the city. Suze spent four years writing and recording in England where she was approached by a record label, which at the time wanted to turn her into the newest manufactured pop act. Suze being a girl who thrives off the energy of a live band wasn’t having any of this, so she returned to Perth and decided to form her own band with the guidance of then manager John Woodruff. First she approached fellow musician Frank Celenza who plays the drums for “ The Baby Animals”, he recommended his best friend bass player Eddie Parise then followed by guitarist Dave Leslie.

Soon after their first tour of Sydney the band signed a publishing deal with SBK Songs (now EMI Songs) and signed to Terri Ellis’s record label Imago Recording Company. Terri was blown away by the talents produced in their live show and commented that Suze clearly had that indefinable magic that separates an every day singer to a superstar.
The band flew to New York to record the debut album, and together with expatriate Mike Chapman (Sweet, Pat Benatar, Blondie) and Kevin “Caveman” Shirley (Aerosmith, Silverchair) produced a classic debut album. Their debut single “Early Warning” reached top 20 on the Australian singles charts and the band flew to USA to showcase their music for the industry reps for Imago and BMG. In 1991 “The Baby Animals” self-titled album debuted at number 6 on the ARIA charts and spent 6 weeks at number 1, they went 8 times platinum and became the highest-selling debut Australian rock album of all time until “Jet” released their album 12 years later. They topped 800,000 worldwide and played over 800 shows globally.

Bryan Adams was so impressed by Baby Animals he invited them on his European tour and whilst overseas they scored “Best New Act” at the inaugural 1991 Australian Music Awards. The band played for sell-out crowds at the “Let Go Of My Ears” tour around the country. In 1992 they joined the Black Crowes on a national tour of New Zealand, made a guest appearance on the David Letterman Show performing their single “Painless” and then went on to support Van Halen on his tour “For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge”.

“The Baby Animals” picked up a number of Aria’s including; Best Debut Album, Best Single and Best Album. Suze DeMarchi was also nominated Best Female Vocalist. Australian Rolling Stones Magazine placed Suze on the cover which was the first time ever they had put an Australian artist or group on the cover on the merits of a debut album. Although the band insisted to have a group shot on the cover or non at all, The Editor used its letter in the publication to explain why only Suze was used.

In 1993 “The Baby Animals” released their second album which hit #2 on the charts. They recorded “Shaved and Dangerous” in the Bahamas at Compass Point Studios (AC/DC) and it was produced by Ed Stasium (Ramones/Living Color). They continued to LA where Nuno Bettencourt contributed his songwriting and guitar skills on tracks “Because I Can”, “Life from a Distance” and “Be My Friend”. The band was on the verge of their first US tour when Imago Records folded. It lost its distributor BMG and there followed a break from touring and a break from the band.

During the break Suze released her first single as a solo artist “Satellite” which was on her debut solo album “Telelove” through Mushroom Records. She went on to write with Andrew Farriss, performed with INXS and in 2004 was inducted into West Australian Music Industry Hall of Fame.

Fast forwarding to more recent events, Dave and Suze recorded an acoustic “Baby Animals” album in 2007 with Justin Stanley producing the tracks. Several songs on the album appeared on Miramax/Disney’s film “Smart People” starring “Denis Quad” and “Sarah Jessica Parker” and later that year “The Baby Animals” reformed to work on new material for their re-release of “Baby Animals” and “Shaved and Dangerous” as well as “ll Grande Silenzio” for Liberation Blue. They have been touring the country again to keep the fans at bay and after 13 years they still know exactly how to rock the show!

Sydonia are truly hard to describe, huge and beautiful guitars meet melodic, hooky vocals and pounding twisted drums and percussion. Although many bands claim to be ‘Genre-less’ very few of those bands have their praises sung by such luminaries as Randy Blythe from Lamb of God or Jim Root from Slipknot and Stone Sour. Hailing from Melbourne, Australia this band is comprised of members Dana Roskvist (Vocals, Guitar, Programming), Sean Bailey (Drums, Percussion, Samples, Website), Adam Murray (Bass, Backing Vocals, Percussion), and Sam Haycroft (Guitar, Backing Vocals, Percussion).

In 2006, following the release of a string of EP’s, Sydonia independently released their first album “Given to Destroyers” before headlining a national tour. Their first Single “Sorry” was screened on Channel V and stayed in the top ten most requested for two months. Three of their singles from “Given to Destroyers” also received Triple J airplay. The following year they were personally invited to tour Australia with Lamb of God (USA) after Randy Blyth heard Sydonia’s OZ debut ”Given to Destroyers” playing in an Australian record store. Sydonia then toured the east coast of Australia with Stone Sour (USA) and were subsequently invited to tour the U.S.A with Stone Sour & Dirty Little Rabbits (USA).

In 2008 Sydonia toured the east coast of Australia with Mammal and were again requested to tour nationally with Slipknot (USA) & Machine Head (USA). They then toured Australia again the following year with Dead Letter Circus along with another headlining tour.

In 2010, legendry Producer/Mixer Colin Richardson came on board to mix Sydonia’s single “Ocean of Storms” from their second album. The same year, Sydonia also supported Korn on their Australian tour and Lamb of God’s Randy Blythe played two songs with Sydonia for their Halloween “Creep Show” event. Sydonia played three days of the 2011 Woodford Folk Festival which draws over 100,000 people and toured with jerrico down the east side of Australia.

Sydonia’s released EP “Waiting For Words That Don’t Exist” in 2012 to rave reviews! The five track EP produced singles “TL” and “Words”. To celebrate the release of the EP they once again toured Australia. As at April 2019, Sydonia have hung up their instruments and retired. We are always hopeful they will return to the stage and get back into the studio to create new music for their global fanbase.

Often overlooked in the evolutionary process of what would come to be known as neo-classical heavy metal, Sweden’s Silver Mountain are one of the great Scandinavian cult bands of the 1980s. Named for the famous song by Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow, Silver Mountain was first assembled in 1978 by vocalist/guitarist Jonas Hansson, guitarist Morgan Alm, bassist Ingemar Stenquist and drummer Marten Hedener; but this lineup would be short-lived, splintering after releasing just one single called “Man of No Present Existence” in 1979 (now collectors-item).

Numerous local musicians sifted through their ranks and several blazing demos were released starting 1980 but it wasn’t until 1982 that a new record deal was finally struck with recently launched Dutch independent label Roadrunner Records. By then, a stable foursome consisting of Hansson, bassist Per Stadin, keyboardist Jens Johansson and his drummer sibling Anders Johansson, had been playing together for nearly two years, and the resulting chemistry was clearly revealed by the band’s 1983 album, the now underground classic Shakin’ Brains.

Effectively re-igniting the combustible union of metal and classical music where their original inspiration, Rainbow, had slacked off, Silver Mountain’s debut received rave reviews in most heavy metal magazines and promised great things to come. Even when Jens and Anders Johansson suddenly decamped to join Malmsteen’s nascent solo band the following year (ironically enough, they helped him sound more like Silver Mountain than any of his recent exploits), Hansson and Stadin simply rehired original drummer Hedener and drafted a full-time singer and frontman in Christer Mentzer.

Along with session keyboardist Erik Björn Nielsen, this lineup recorded 1984’s Universe where hysterical response in Japan led to 1985’s Hibiya –Live in Japan album. In 1988,Johan Dahlstrom (vocals) and Kjell Gustavsson (drums) joined the band and a more AOR-oriented album was made.

Silver Mountain folded shortly thereafter, with Hansson keeping busy throughout the 1990s as a soundtrack composer and his own Jonas Hansson Band. Then, in 2001, all four members of the group’s “classic” Shakin’ Brains decided to reconvene, turn back the clock, and record the not-surprisingly titled Breakin’ Chains LP for old time’s sake. In 2010 a Facebook group called “We who want to see Silver Mountain Live in Malmö” surfaced and the band decided to get together in various line-ups to do this show.

The show was filmed and resulted in: “Silver Mountain A reunion Live 2010”. After that show Silver Mountain decided to continue and is currently working on a new studio-album. For more information go to www.silvermountainrules.com or search “SILVER MOUNTAIN” on Google.

Pete Wells was the genuine 100% proof rock‘n’roll outlaw. Often described as Australia’s version of Keith Richards, he first came to fame in the early 70’s playing bass for the now legendary BUFFALO. BUFFALO were heavy, and Pete’s bass playing was like Bill Wyman on rocket fuel.

The BUFFALO experience gave Pete an insight into what was missing on the Aussie rock scene, so at the end of 1976 he left the band, put down his bass and started playing slide guitar. Pete then teamed up with ex-BAND OF LIGHT bass, Ian Rilen, and later ex-BUSTER BROWN throat, Angry Anderson, to form a tough street band with some serious attitude. You know the band, the mighty ROSE TATTOO.

What can we say about The TATTS that hasn’t already been said? They were one of the best bands ever to tread the boards on stages around the world! AC/DC gave the world a taste of real Aussie rock ’n’ roll, and THE TATTS cemented the greatness of that era. The years may have flown and the band may be a thing of the past, but age has not dulled the fire in the belly of the beast. The world still shouts out for ROSE TATTOO, and their albums are as popular as ever – something that we’re sure the boys would be glad to know. The TATTS released a live album in 2000 which was very well received, as fans were hungry for a new release from the boys. Early 2002, The TATTS entered the studio to to record their first studio album for some 20 years. The boys were apprehensive about doing a new album, but the pressure of the fans wanting new songs, along with the lack of true rock ‘n’ roll being released was just too strong a temptation. The result is an album titled “Pain” which sees ROSE TATTOO at their blistering best, so don’t worry about the band losing it, the new songs are just as good and as powerful as the old shit! Funnily enough, this album is their best selling album!

After leaving ROSE TATTOO in early ‘83, Pete put together and played in various bands before teaming up with Lucy DeSoto in ‘85. Pete & Lucy wrote some great songs together, and in 1990 Pete released the first of a number of solo albums. As a warm up for the ROSE TATTOO 2001 UK/European 7 week tour, PETE WELLS, ANGRY ANDERSON & THE DAMN FINE BAND hit the pubs and clubs in NSW, and also saw them traveling to Tasmania & South Australia. Their stomping blues covers packed out the venues, and as a result of their success, a CD was released later in the year which sold heavily.

January ‘02 saw Pete release a purely solo effort and the title reflected this as it was simply called “Solo”. Pete played all the instruments on the album and indulged in his love for acoustic blues which saw him doing both old & new Wells/DeSoto tunes, as well as covers from some of the old blues masters. He is fondly remembered for all his exploits and for all the hardcore rocker bands he ran with, and we miss him dearly: the world of Aussie rock just isn’t the same without his killer skill! The members of Konqistador are a unit of visionaries; collectively bold and adventurous. Their supporters throughout the world are equally brave and strong in spirit.

Konqistador deliver a hybrid of electro-world-fusion delving in Eastern European industrialism, Baltic and Black Sea folklore, time honored Middle Eastern history. Their sound is delivered through ancient rhythms, ethereal and emotive guitars and adventurously explorative vocals presented in English, French, Spanish, Romanian, Turkish, Arabic and Russian. They are avid archivists and constantly record live, as originally recorded field recordings discovered from our travels around the world, richly influence their music.

“Suada” is the lastest release by Konqistador, and is an eleven track album, featuring titles such as “Albastru”, “Rafqa” and “From The Ruins”, that has been created over the course of six years, over four continents, six studios, with over twenty different collaborators.

Challenged by the tyranny of distance between creators, lack of funding and Konqistadorʼs waning desire to make sense of todayʼs precarious music industry, Suada was destined to be an underwhelming collection of unfinished stories and incomplete tracks, never to see the light of day. Still, never one to surrender to the immanent or inevitable, Konqistador carried on and did what they do best – survive to conquer. With tenacious laboring and a heart of urgency, Konqistador reunited in 2010 to re-create a fertile base of collaboration to re-plant the seeds that would see Suada finally come into full bloom.

Collaborators, producers and early mentoring for the album include; Joseph LoDuca (Evil Dead I, II, III, Producer), Jacob Hellner (Rammstein, Producer), Dave Ogilvie (NIN, Producer) and Victor Ghannam (Xena Warrior Princess, Spartacus : Blood and Sand, Soundtrack Artist). The multiformat, concept-album approach was inspired by the controversial, occult-meditation soundtrack for Lucifer Rising (Robert Kenneth Beausoleil) and reveals raw, organic sounds and electronic sampling that explores a union of genres including; World, Experimental, Industrial, Electronic and Rock.Suadaʼs timeless storytelling is delivered in English, French, Romanian, Hindi and Arabic.

Following on from their success created by several earlier released tracks licensed to film, television and Internet including; CBSʼ Supernatural (CW Network), Konqistadorʼs eleven new tracks are poised for new interest for film, television and gaming placement. Suada pushes the World Music 2.0 boundary, delivering ancient themes, delving in eastern European industrialism, Baltic and Black Sea folklore and time honored Middle Eastern history. The band taps original found sounds from around the world, bridging news worlds with old and collaborates with World musicians through digital sessions and digital file sharing, forging a Ê»no borders – no boundariesʼ international creation and recording process.

Headband became one of Australia’s most popular progressive, blues rock bands that formed in early 1971 by bass guitarist Chris Bailey; drummer Joff Bateman; singer-songwriter and keyboardist Peter Beagley (later known as Peter Head); and singer-songwriter and guitarist Mauri Berg. Headband played progressive blues rock with symphonic, country and pop influences. They had a strong work ethic, rehearsing and performing constantly, including three shows a week in high schools across Adelaide.

“We did modern jazz at nightclubs, rock’n’roll for discos, J.S. Bach for pleasure, barbershop quartet stuff for laughs, electronic music at jam sessions, blues when feelin’ low, and country and folk for interest. A combination of these influences comes out in our original material,” explains Peter Head.

The band practised “group indoctrination” in all types of music, even attending chamber music concerts together. The four-piece group have supported musical legends such as Elton John in 1971 and The Rolling Stones in 1973. They also finished third in the 1972 Hoadley’s Battle of the Sounds – a national performance competition between the best groups representing each state. The band then went on to release their debut album, “A Song for Tooley”, in 1973, which featured album artwork by internationally renowned Adelaide artist Vytas Šerelis.

Headband disbanded a year later. After Headband had separated, Bailey joined the Australian rock group “The Angels” in January 1977, he was later a founding member of GANGgajang. Berg joined a new line-up of Fraternity in late 1974, it included John Swan on drums and vocals, and his brother Jimmy Barnes (Cold Chisel) on vocals. Head formed a loose musical collective, The Mount Lofty Rangers, in 1974, which began with various musicians from Fraternity and Headband. It included Bon Scott, who left to join AC/DC before year’s end. The Mount Lofty Ranges spawned the musical “Lofty” produced by The Circle Theatre Company. By the early 1990s, the original vinyl pressing of “A Song for Tooley” became a collector’s item for psychedelic and progressive rock fans.
